Quick Bio...

Born in Music City, USA, and living in Middle Tennessee, Chris has always been attached to music in some form or fashion.

The bulk of his involvement comes from his attendance as a percussionist studying Music Education at Middle Tennessee State University, and performing with Music City Mystique as a snare drummer for 4 years.

During his attendance at MTSU, Chris performed with the MTSU Wind Ensemble (and recorded on NAXOS), Symphonic Band, Steel Band, Salsa Band, Percussion Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Band of Blue, and Concert Chorale. He also performed in a clinic with MTSU Drumline and competed in the college ensemble division at PASIC. Other opportunities include a live performance with the Nashville Jazz Orchestra, Jeff Coffin, Roy Agee, Nashville Wind Ensemble, and Chris Tanner. He was also in a Pearl video shoot with Scott Johnson, Glen Caruba, German Barrato, and Lalo Davila.

Outside of MTSU, Chris performed 4 years on the WGI stage with 7-time World Champion Music City Mystique. He has over 10 years of teaching experience in DCI as a battery visual tech for the former world class corps Glassmen, and as percussion staff, including percussion caption head, at former Open Class to recently promoted World Class Music City Drum Corps. He has also been involved with teaching various high school marching and concert percussion ensembles, as well as adjudicating on a local and regional level.

After earning his degree in Music Education, Chris went on the become a band director in the Middle Tennessee area, where he teaches middle school band and is exploring the musical theater genre. Recently, he has earned his Master's in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University. Musical theater is another area where Chris is getting some good experience as music director for a local youth theater group called the Starbright Players. When he is not on the clock as a music director, he enjoys being a professional percussionist for hire in the local musical scene, as well as playing drumset for fun with the local cover band "Nightingale."

Chris is extremely proud and honored to be a part of both the awesome Innovative Percussion and Mapex/Majestic Percussion teams!
